The Sparlin Clinic, today named Cornerstone Performance Center, was opened in 1954 in its current inner-city location by Dr. Eugene Sparlin. Compelled by an urgent need for a conservative treatment center in Sylvan Hills and the surrounding communities, Dr. Sparlin purchased a small conveniently-located piece of property that is five minutes away from the State Capitol, Langford Parkway (Highway 166) and interstates I-20, I-75, I-85 and I-285.
On the property sat a small house which Dr. Sparlin converted into a chiropractic treatment center. Dr. Sparlin built his practice by educating the community on the benefits of chiropractic and proactively reaching out to nearby industrial companies such as the Kraft/Nabisco Company and Delta Airlines for which he developed corporate wellness plans.
Around the year 2000, Sparlin Clinic became Sparlin Health Care and incorporated a medical team, and in 2002 the Clinic acquired Georgia Occupational Medicine. In the fall of 2021, Dr. Johnny Brown became the principal owner of Sparlin Health Care and renamed the practice Cornerstone Performance Center.
Today, Cornerstone Performance Center is a sprawling 8,500 square foot facility that provided chiropractic and medical care. Over the years, our doctors have treated thousands of patients including professional athletes and several celebrities.
